Music that follows you from the kitchen to the deck.
Simple Tech designs and installs multi-room audio for homes across the Flathead Valley. As a Gold Sonos Authorized Dealer we build wireless systems for finished homes and wired, amplified systems for new construction, then tune every zone so the whole house sounds like one system instead of a collection of speakers.
Portable speakers are easy to buy and awkward to live with. Volume is different in every room, the music stops at the doorway, and each one wants its own app.
Every zone answers to the same control, whether that is your phone, a keypad by the door, or the touchscreen you already use for lighting.
In-ceiling and in-wall speakers sit flush and get painted to match, so the room you spent months designing stays the way you designed it.
Kitchen, great room, primary suite, shop, and deck each run on their own, or all play together, without a stack of receivers in a hall closet.
We plan the zones around how you move through the house, install the speakers and the wiring behind them, and level-match each room so the volume and tone carry from one space to the next.
Four parts have to agree with each other before a house sounds right: the sources, the amplification, the speakers, and the network carrying it all.
Sonos, Apple Music, Spotify, a turntable, or the television. We connect the sources you already use and keep the interface plain enough that a guest can work it without being shown.
Rack-mounted amplification sized to the number of zones, so every room gets clean power and nothing strains when you turn it up for a party.
Speakers chosen for the size and the finish of each room, installed flush to the ceiling or the wall and painted to disappear into it.
Deck, patio, and yard speakers built to sit outside through a Montana winter, so summer evenings outdoors sound like the rest of the house.
Audio is the easiest system to fold into automation you already own. If you run Control4, music becomes part of the same scenes as your lighting and shades.
See home automation →Streaming audio is only as steady as the network carrying it. We check that the wiring and coverage can hold every zone at once before we commission the system.
See mesh WiFi →Distributed audio is one of the few systems that are easier to add later, though the ceiling speakers never are.
Music through the whole house is usually the first thing people add and the thing they end up using every single day. Start with the kitchen and the great room, and the zones you add later join the same system rather than becoming a second one.
Speaker locations and the wire that feeds them have to be decided before insulation. For a restaurant, a shop, or a tasting room, the same equipment gives staff one control for background music with the volume already set where you want it.

We walk the house with you and mark the zones, listening to where you cook, work, gather, and sit outside.
We match speakers and amplification to each room, and decide where wireless makes sense and where wire is worth running.
Speakers go in flush, wiring stays hidden, and the rack is built so the next technician can read it at a glance.
We level-match every zone by ear and by meter, then show you how to run it before we leave.

Explore The Virtual ShowroomIt comes down to how many zones you want, whether the house is finished or still framed, and the grade of speaker in each room. A two-zone wireless system and a twelve-zone wired system are very different projects. Most homeowners start with the rooms they use every day and add zones later, and we give you a clear quote after a free consultation and a walkthrough of the house.
Yes, and most of our audio work is exactly that. Wireless Sonos zones need no new wiring at all, and in many finished homes we can still fish speaker wire into ceilings and interior walls with very little patching. We tell you which rooms are straightforward and which ones are not before you commit to anything.
Both are good answers to different situations. Wireless suits a finished home and a smaller number of zones. A wired, amplified system suits new construction and larger houses, because it costs less per zone once you pass a handful of rooms and it never competes with your WiFi for bandwidth. We often build a house with both.
That is the point of zoning. The kitchen can run a podcast while the great room plays an album and the deck plays something else again, and any combination of rooms can be grouped together for a party with one tap.
Anything stored locally or playing from a device in the house keeps going. Streaming services need the connection, so for homes where that matters we design a local source into the system as well and make sure the network itself is solid enough that outages are rare.
Simple Tech installs and supports whole home audio for homeowners and builders throughout Northwest Montana, from lakefront new builds to finished homes in town. Our techs are local, and the same team that designs your system is the one that answers when you call.
